[The gale flutters against her clothes, and for a moment, Diao Chan looks like another petal in the wind.
She hasn't gotten completely used to registering these changes in weather as a sign that someone is nearby. However, the slight turns of her head and nimble twists in her body means that she can easily see all around her. It's obvious that there's someone there, but she's unable to attach that blur of a looming figure to a name. Her steps only stop once she hears her name.
She knows him.
A surprised expression manages to make its way onto her face, reflected by an apple shaking off a nearby tree. It's not common, but sometimes, Diao Chan's reputation precedes her-- never in ways that are beneficial. It doesn't matter if they admire her for what she's done (well, about to do before she got pulled here), or if they keep their distance in fear of her potential trickery. The fact that they know is both reassuring and horribly, horribly wrong.
Not to mention that she realizes her actions don't help to restore the Han rule at all.
But that's fine. It'll be fine, because she'll go back to her world with this new knowledge, and she'll fix whatever she did wrong. She'll have to twist Lu Bu around even further than she intended to, for years and for decades, but she'll do it.
So the reappearance of Zhang Liao causes her to shiver, because there's a very good chance he knows.]
Master Zhang Liao! [There's a pleasant smile on her face as she bows, though there's ice forming between her toes.] Thank goodness, I thought I was alone here.
[Ah, and-- it's time to make a lie. Diao Chan's smile becomes unsure as her face dims in 'confusion' at his statement. (She knows perfectly well what he means, and that only confirms that Zhang Liao knows more than she does about their world. Oh dear.)] What do you mean by that, though? I just saw you with Master Lu Bu some time ago.
