There's no doubt about it. She's definitely up to something. She's been twisting that one green lock of hair around her finger over and over again since he's answered the door.
But she pleads with him, golden eyes going all big and round and hands clasping together. Please please please PLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEEE. He tries to put his foot down because he really has a full day planned ahead of him, but when the nearby flower bush starts to smoke from the static sparks going off all around her, measures must be taken to both put out the flames and the waterworks, as Sanae mourns the death of the few buds that had gone too soon.
So sure enough, he sighs and shuts the door behind him. Alright, just for an hour, he tries to tell her firmly as she starts to twinkle all around with excitement again, because he has a lot of work to do and the Welcome Centre won't run itself.
Anyway, it's not like he could say no to her. They say a woman's tears are her most powerful weapon; he'd disagree. It's her smiles that light up his day, her bright laughter and her infectious cheer that cut through the hardened, stern front that he's built over the years.
Those are things worth protecting.
...but his dignity is something worth protecting too. And that's why, ten minutes later it's his turn to splutter. He'd said he'd accompany her for some errands, and didn't she say she just wanted some company!?
But it is his company she wants, she begs back. And he can't back out now, because she booked for the both of them and surely his thrifty and penny-counting self is not going to make her waste her hard-earned money, is he? That'd just be such a waste! And, and she really wants him to come along, and everything's already set up and booked and he can't just cancel on her, please go with her please please please please PLLLEEEEAAAAASSSSEEE--!!
It was a foregone conclusion the moment he agreed to follow her. He's stepped right into a trap, and there's no saying no. With a resigned and sinking heart he forfeits his dignity and grumbling, follows he inside.
Two hours later, they emerge. And it really wasn't too bad at all, actually. Quite...relaxing, on the contrary. Though he's certainly going to be very careful to keep this a secret around a few choice people, because the teasing, if it happens, will be merciless and endless. Ah well, just a few extra precautions--
His thoughts are interrupted when she abruptly turns around and asks, "How....how was it?" A nervous smile doesn't suit her, especially when there's nothing to be nervous about in the first place. Yes, he might have made a bit of a ruckus earlier. But she should know that the chances of him saying no where next to none, be it playing matchmaker between the Arehtei, ice-skating, or even this.
It's a wonder that she doesn't know. And his gaze goes from that nervous smile to the finger that's curling that same lock of hair from earlier today.
He raises an eyebrow back at her. "Stop playing with your hair. You just straightened it."
"You should've left them straighten your hair too. It's always so messy!"
"Why would I want to do that!? My hair is perfectly fine as it is."
"It's fine now because you got it washed and conditioned! Really, how do you deal with all those tangles!?"
"You're making it sound like I wear a bird's nest on my head."
"--and it's so long and thick too, you should do more with it than just a simple ponytail--"
"--!? Sanae stop fussing around my hair!"
"The salon really got it so nice and soft now....we should get it shaped and layered next! And have you see Kevin's new hairstyle? I think it'd go well with you too. And maybe some hairclips, just to keep things tidy...how about a froggy clip? Liiiikkkkeee here!"
"That's just ridicul--"
"Annnnnddd guess what I bought at the marketplace yesterday? Stand still Lu Meng, you've already got one strand coming out of place!"
"NO!"
